A Very Important Thing You Can Do For Your Business!!

Thanks to Royal Diamond Jeff Van Blaricum

On a conference call, Jeff Van Blaricum related something that happened at a business luncheon in St. Louis, MO. He was talking about setting volume goals for the end of the month.... at the beginning of the month.  He asked , "How many of you have heard me talk about this before?"  About 60 hands went into the air. He then asked, "How many of you are doing that?" and he was shocked to see not one raised hand!

A business man then stood up and said that he owned a mortgage company, and at the beginning of every month…. they set their production goals for the end of the month, and then go to work to make it happen. He said that he had been in Nikken for 2 years, and the only month he set volume goals…. was the month he went Silver.  He made the comment that he had never thought about why he didn't use the same sound business, goal setting procedure in his Nikken business as he did in his mortgage business.  He said he would from now on!

For most people in Nikken, the month goes by very quickly….. it's the 3rd, then all of a sudden…. it's the 30th.  About the 28th or 29th, most consultants are saying to themselves, "I wish I had more volume this month.  I wish the month had been better."   Wishing is not the answer!  Goal setting, planning and action is!

How to proceed:

1) Sometime in the first few days of the month, draw out your team and see what the possibilities could be. John & Sue are Seniors who could move up to Bronze. Terry & Karen are Exeutives who could move up to Silver.  Judy is a new direct who could move up to Executive, etc.  Write PGV numbers by their names, then total up the volume and write down what you believe is possible.

2) Get together with each member of your team and "sell" what you believe is possible for them.  Here's what you'll find.  John & Sue are excited and believe they can move up to Bronze!  Terry & Karen have a daughter getting married, so they won't be able to do much this month.  Judy is moving to another state and will have to put off working the business until she gets settled, etc.  Write down the "new" modified PGV numbers by their names.  Now you know where to work this month…. with John & Sue, as they make their run to Bronze!

3) Here's what will probably happen: John & Sue work hard with your assistance, but don't quite make it to Bronze.  Instead of $10,000 PGV, they hit $7,500 PGV.  Without the goals and planned activity, John & Sue may have only done $800 PGV that month…. drifting along, wishing things were better.

Jeff told us that he decided to do $10,000 PGV last month…. and used the above outline with his personal group.  He ended up the month with $6,500 PGV.  If he hadn't planned and set a goal for $10,000 PGV, he said he would have had $500 to $800 PGV, drifting along, wishing things were better.

Pass this along to your team members.  Let's all set some volume goals at the beginning of each month and see what can be accomplished!

We appreciate & believe in you!
